Special Event

To begin this exhibition, Beijin Street will have a total of four visual and six performing artists fly from China into JFK Airport, New York. For the first evening, the event will be held on the roof a downtown non-profit New York Gallery, Chelsea Art Museum 556 West 22nd Street (http://www.chelseaartmuseum.org/). The Visual artists will be creating on large canvas using spray paint, markers, and other medians while drinks and houderves are serves to the audience. Musicians will be performing in between canvas sessions to ensure the complete attention from the guests. Those attending this event will have a chance to converse and interact with artists throughout the evening.

Mission Statement

Beijing Street is an non-profit art exhibitions that strives to read two main goals. First to expose the marginalized talents and creativity of some of Beijing’s hip hop and street artists to other nations in attempts to show a much truer account of China then most mainstream art. The group will travel to New York City to put on live performances of music while visuals are produced on large canvases all though the exhibition. Admission costs and funds from auctioned art will help Beijing Streets reach its second goal of giving back to the streets. With many limitations of expression in Chinese culture, we plan on creating opportunities for the youth to gain empowerment, creativity and expression thought subaltern art.
